Seeing the same thing with HR34 for the last couple of weeks. Reset doesn't clear the problem. Bug in the last software update seems the likely cause.

I had the exact same problem.  I did the manual reset, tried to unplug it - everything I could think of.  Nothing worked.  I searched on the DTV site and found a solution.

Log into your DTV account - Under the Quick Links there is "My Equipment" and Activate Receiver, click that.

Near the top pf that page you will see a link to "Refresh your Service"  Click that.

You will then be presented a list of your boxes, (Genie and mini genie clients).  If you re-authorize the Genie itself that is what corrected the delay and pausing issues from the remotes for me.  I had the same remote delays etc.. problem on the mini genies too.

Be warned, it will take about 24 hrs for the guide to catch up and put the TV series you record back into the To Do list but it does come back.  Try and do this on a day before you record a small number of shows or no shows.  You can manually add them into the To Do list but if you have a lot of them it is a pain.

It worked great for me.  I was a little leery of the term 're-authorize' but it didn't effect my service at all - it just made my Genie start working like it did when I first got it.

Good luck!

The HR44 now has CEC (DirecTV calls it HDMI control); you can turn this feature off by going to Menu, Settings & Help, Settings, Display, Video

Not necessarily. Some early wide screen (16:9)  TVs were still SD only. And some 4:3 TVs support HD.

I can tell you this was just pure coincidence as reathorizing the receiver all is does it tells the access card what programming you are allow to watch

Genie caller ID issues

I see many posts regarding the Genie caller ID.  I also get "unavailable" notices WHEN SOMEONE IS ON THE PHONE AND THERE ARE NO CALLS COMING IN.  I tried the DSL filter as suggested but that did not solve the issue.  This did not happen with my previous non-Genie receiver.  Any solutions yet?

Thanks

I understand that the genie caller ID had connection problems that have now been updated.

It very well could be a coincidence. As soon as I did that it started working again.  It won't hurt anything to try....   Or don't.  I was just sharing what I did and the results.

Did you change the Sunday Ticket computer website app this year to disallow 2 or 4 games at once?

I used the Sunday Ticket website last year to watch games and could have up to 4 games going at once.

Did you change the Sunday Ticket computer website app this year to disallow 2 or 4 games at once? The legalese on your website this year seems to suggest this has changed.

But they were working full screen until Tuesday morning and there had not been any changes made.  They just started doing this and why, I can't figure it out. I have forced them to view full screen but as I stated earlier, when I do that, then the tops of peoples heads are cut off, etc. It blows up the channels too much that were showing full screen as they should. It makes no sense.

DVR Replay Blacks Out, Audio Continues

I've been noticing this problem for a while now.  I'll record a show and be watching it back and somewhere through (usually over 50%), the screen will freeze up and then go black, but the audio continues. It first happened when I had started a show on DVR and started watching it before it was over/finished recording.  If I fast forwarded a lot, it would freeze up.  Now though, it's doing it in shows that have been recorded days before.

I'm not sure of the version of receiver I have (I'm at work), but I know it's an older one.  I'm viewing/recording in standard def, using component cables (no HDMI output on this receiver).

Is it possible the hard drive is corrupted?  Anything I can try to make it work correctly?  Also, I can't upgrade to a new receiver because the new dish I'd need doesn't fit on my apartment balcony (installers tried, long story).

Thanks!!

Just want to note that I was not getting caller ID on my HR34/700 for about a week. I checked the line, and after plugging it back in and resetting the receiver it is now working. In my case, I did not need to clear the log.

No idea then. Reset box blah blah blah. For me it's the SD channels which I watch rarely. Shows on the Hallmark Channel were filmed in the 80's. Not sure if it makes a difference.

I have reset both receivers also and that made no difference. It seems to be a wide spread problem in this area because I've talked to friends and neighbors and they're having the same problem and they use Directv. But, how do you get them to listen? Thanks for your time anyway.

My box is powering up for a few seconds with signal and picture but then automatically shuts down. This is happening all the time. What can be causing this? Please help.

Just turned on my 55" Samsung to Hallmark Channel and programming and commercials are showing correctly. I do not work for DTV and they don't listen. Customer Service runs off scripts.

I think it's a screen resolution setting on your TV. Check that.

Re: Recently upgraded to Genie 2 weeks ago, able to record 5 shows at once, now I can only record 2 and unable to watch live tv. Do I need to reset the whole system or what?? Very frustrating!!

The Genie has 5 tuners, which are shared between viewing locally (on a TV connected directly to the Genie, viewing on attached clients (C31 or C41), and recording.  So, if you have a Genie and 3 clients, and all are turned on watching live TV, you are using 4 of the 5 tuners. Or, if you have 4 recordings going, only one TV will be able to watch live TV (but they can still watch recorded shows).

Thank you!  So then do I need to get a  DVR for say one of the bedrooms?  Last night i think one show was recording, and everyone was trying to watch live tv. I just gave up.
